With a child in the school, you’re a member of the Greenland Parent Organization. There are many ways to get involved to help our community and fundraising events be a success! Check out the events hosted by the GPO in recent years, and reach out if you would like to learn more.

GPO Golf Tournament (October 7, 2022)
This fantastic golf tournament is the sole source of funding for an annual scholarship which is awarded to a graduating high school senior who attended GCS. Open to adult and junior golfers, the events features silent auctions, raffles, a dinner and contests.

GCS Community Spirit Fun Run 
This active, back to school event was a huge success in September of 2021! Families and community members joined to cheer each other on for a 3 mile out-and-back loop through Greenland neighborhoods.

Expo/Ice Cream Smorgasbord
The GPO sponsors everyone’s favorite ice cream smorgasbord featured at each year’s School Expo where families can view impressive class projects school-wide.

Greenland Fall Social
An adult-only event that allows parents and guardians of our GCS community an opportunity to socialize outside of school-sponsored events. Come together with friends, both new and old, for a fun night out.

Greenland Plays
Our initiative to improve the outdoor spaces at GCS are ongoing, and we are always looking for talented, energetic volunteers to take on special designing, building, and painting projects.  Reach out and let us know if you have an idea and can help in its execution!

Last Day of School Lunch
Our way to help the staff and teachers celebrate another successful year, a simple lunch is catered and enjoyed as we celebrate staff milestones, retirements and kick off summer.

Reading Carnival
After working so hard to improve their reading, writing and arithmetic skills, students in grades K-4 are awarded fun prizes and enjoy a well-earned, carnival-style celebration. Attractions include items such as bouncy houses, face painting, popcorn, and cotton candy! Ask any GCS graduate and this event is sure to be a highlight of their elementary years.

Scholastic Book Fair
The week-long book fair, typically hosted in the Spring, showcases hundreds of titles for readers of all ages. Get classics and new favorites at great prices while helping grow the GCS library.  Be on the lookout for more information in emails from the GPO and GCS about opportunities to attend or purchase online.

Staff Appreciation
An expression of gratitude for the excellent staff of GCS, the teachers and staff enjoy Espresso Dave events, Lexi’s Food Truck luncheons, as well as raffle items and special surprises. Join us in saying thanks for all they do for our kids!

Did you know that we raise more than $1,000 annually through this program?  Click here to download the app to get started.  The collection of Box Tops is now digital and tracked/collected through scanning receipts from your store purchases.  It’s easy to participate, and you can encourage family members to participate, too!  We have some tips to get started here, too.

GPO Scholarship
Funded exclusively by the GPO Golf Tournament, this annual $2,000 scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior.  Criteria used in the selection process includes academic achievements, service to the community/good citizenship, extracurricular activities, jobs held, and an essay.

The scholarship is awarded in full each June to the winner(s).

Applicant Requirements:

• Graduate of GCS attending at least grades 6-8
• Acceptance to a 2- or 4-year post-secondary school
• Attending the fall after high school graduation
